Why cold process

Slow-made soap that stays gentle

Cold process is one of the oldest ways to make soap. Oils and butters react with lye to become soap and natural glycerin. No lye remains in the finished bar.

Cured 4 to 6 weeks

Water evaporates, the bar hardens and lasts longer, and it becomes milder on skin.

Natural glycerin kept in

Glycerin forms during saponification and stays in the bar to help hold moisture.

Colour from clays and plants

Pink, red and green clays, turmeric, moringa and charcoal. Nothing synthetic.

Small batches

Each batch is made by hand for consistent quality.

Maidah founded The Artisan Suds to make gentle, nourishing soap for every skin type, including sensitive, dry, oily and combination. She makes each bar by hand in small batches in Islamabad.
